| Programme
of Academic Exchange
Programme of Academic Exchange (PAE), which was developed
within the Centre for Civic Education, represents an attempt
to create a space for free exchange of information of
academic nature in Montenegro, Balkans and Europe, and
wider.
The goals of PAE are:
- Making available/ distribution of information
of academic nature
- Making available /distribution of information concerning
politics, economy and ecology of importance for the region
of Montenegro and Balkans, or of general importance.
- Making contacts and cooperation with similar initiatives
from the region and the world.
Naturally, all three segments of this
project are complementary.
In order to achieve these goals, various
information are distributed through PAE, regarding international
and local seminars, trainings, summer and winter schools,
conferences, foreign language schools, camps, scholarships,
job opportunities, probation programmes, etc. to interested
organizations, institutions and individuals which are
engaged in the educational sector, in the widest sense
of the word.
In accordance with the demands and current
needs of PAE beneficiaries, special projects have been
developed within this programme.
PAE, in an utterly informal form, has
been functioning since 2002, and during that period numerous
contacts with a large number of individuals, organizations
and institutions had been made, all across the Balkan
and Europe, which had created a large number of possible
ways of development and cooperation as for the Centre
for Civic Education, thus for the participants of our
programmes and all of the interested citizens.
We believe that access to information
of academic nature is essential for the process of constituting
the alternative educational sector as a counterpart to
the classical, formal education system, as well as for
its proper functioning.
Within PAE, and with the financial support
of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, we initiated the project
European Information Centre
in February 2005.
Some time later, on the initiative of
our activists and volunteers, we have started the Academic
Information Centre, the second project
that is being realized within PAE.
