European Information Centre

European Information Centre has started working in February 2005, with the support of Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

This programme is directly related to other educational programmes conducted by the Centre for Civic Education (Democracy School, Human and Minority Rights School, European Integrations School, Young Leadership School), in the sense of creating a space for all participants of these programmes, both previous and current, to directly, in practice, evaluate and enhance the knowledge gained through these schools, but it is also related to the essence of the process of European integrations and the position of Montenegro in that process.

This project is the result of an effort which CCE undertook in order to enable further involvement of the participants of the schools in Centre’s activities, as well as to give them the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on the process of comprehensive transformations taking place in Montenegrin society in political, social, economic and cultural sphere; to exchange their opinions and information about this process, and to be familiarised with the activities of different social actors in European integrations field. Naturally, this project and all its services are open to general public.

EIC is conducted through 3 basic forms of activities:

- EIC Bulletin – is publicized monthly, bilingually, in electronic form and represents the unique magazine on European Integrations in Montenegro. In the context of standard columns on current affairs in European integrations and position of Montenegro on that road, one can find: focus of the issue, interview, analyses, views, policy, EU challenges, column “European Barometer in Montenegro”, documents, contributions by participants of our programmes, details on European institutions, news from the national NGO scene and a series of recommendations for various education programmes in European integrations and related subjects. It is targeting both the national and international public.

- Mailing lists - whose purpose is distribution of information regarding educational opportunities related to European integrations in country and abroad; promotion of programmes of NGOs in Montenegro dealing with the process of European integrations; and other relevant information from this field that are of relevance for Montenegro and Western Balkans.

- Lectures and workshops – are held by eminent experts/trainers from this field, as well as representatives of the institutions involved in the process of European integrations. Selection of topics depends on their actuality, as well as the needs of the participants of CCE educational programmes and activists of the European Information Centre for their further development.
